Just a quick update, showing off the finished Arc Gurren Lagann, think there are a few things i'll fix on it, later when i'm doing some final corrections

Sorry, been a bit lax on the progress reports lately, i'll keep this short and sweet. Dog's not sick anymore, and i've gotten a bit of my massive Gurren Lagann "poster" worked on...

First up, here's my finished Gurren Lagann. Mostly happy with it, some stuff to be fixed later down the road though.

Next we have part 2 of this project, Arc Gurren Lagann, finished the upper bits of him yesterday (8/3/13)

And finally, just to show off a bit of a size comparison so that you guys can get an idea of just how big this is going to be...mind you I've got another 2 robots to draw yet =p

Haha, well to be truthful, it has been a while since I did one of these again. But thought i'd bang one out...(also i'm kinda stuck on a panel for my comic so....)

definitely thinking aout replacing those faux barcodes with some sort of QR code that links to like a wiki page for the animal or something...

Long Time No See

Alright, so things don't always go as planned in this crazy mixed up world of ours...and that includes personal work.

Recently (well not any more) got a puppy, a crazy little Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He's been far more work to take care of than anyone could have ever told me. But now that we've had him for...4 months things have settled down and we've got our routine and i've been able to finally get back to work...

...speaking of which here's something that I did as a break from my comic (because I severely needed it) It's a Chocobo from any one of the various Final Fantasy games (more inspiration on this from FFXIV, than other games) and a Moogle Dragoon Knight...or Mog DK as I like to call him =P

feels great to be able to work again, although as always the balance between play and work and work that seems like play is a delicate one...

Hopefully this means i'll be able to work on more stuff and resume a steady posting stream to this thing.

Update! Update! Update!

Well, to celebrate the completion of another page (page 3 of 6...7?...-ish?) i've decided to post a bit of a teaser of what I've been working on.

WIP Update

With my contracted teaching year finally drawing to a close I will officially be unemployed (scary huh?), however that also means that I will be officially able to devote, probably another %70 of my time to working solely on art. To celebrate this momentous event, I've undertaken a personal project to crank out a 6(ish) page comic...and to show how serious I am...here's a teaser of the first/cover page.

Broken Dreams...errr I mean Wacom Pens =(

So...I dropped my Wacom tablet pen yesterday whilst packing up from my daily grind (known as work) and I am guessing that is what caused the poor thing to stop working. So, as of right now I am currently without a way to digitally input creations onto my computer. Looking into alternatives...(replacement pen? upgrade to an Intuos?) Since I cannot finish anything I've been working on...i'll post some wip stuff instead.

Also, I finally got around to changing my banner....a little embarrassing having my banner and the URL be different ^^;

Well then...according to blogger stats i've had exactly 444 views to my art blog since I started it. That is either disappointing or...a sign of the coming apocalypse. Well regardless, since I haven't posted any of my recent projects...I shall post them now.

I've been keeping myself quite busy with these two projects whilst struggling in trying to come up with a coherent story to tie things in my head together.

First up we have an action pose of what I hope to be a (main?) character Zoe, smacking the head of a hapless Zomboid with her trusty cricket bat. Attempted some new things with this piece, new shading technique, which in retrospect, was a complete waste of time. Also tried using multiple textures on the various bits of this as well.

Next we have my most recently finished project, a piece of fan art of Yoda, the Jedi Master doing a little maintenance on his lightsaber. This was a something that went from a minor thing to a project of passion as it developed. I went a bit overboard with the details I think. Also, this was my first time trying to apply reflections to any surfaces (overall i'm happy with them...but they're definitely something I need to plan ahead for in the future).

Here's something that I put together with the "masked Death" character that I posted last time. Attempted to go for something a little bit more stylized than what I've been cranking out lately. Overall, quite happy with it.

As per usual, line work was all done in Flash, and the coloring and texturizing was done in Photoshop.
